Gun violence in this country is out of control. It’s true the recently enacted federal gun package is the most significant bi-partisan reform in 30 years. It’s also true that legislation does not go far enough, fast enough to protect all communities suffering from the current gun violence epidemic.
Our communities are still at risk every day, and we need real leaders who are ready to step up and act to find real solutions for their constituents. There is so much we can do at the municipal level, and Derek Green is leading the way with simple and effective gun safety measures in the city of Philadelphia.

Indict Ivanka Trump!

During the July 12th hearing of the January 6th Committee, video testimony from Ivanka Trump’s chief of staff, Julie Radford, directly contradicted what the Trump daughter had said under oath in her own testimony about going to the now infamous Ellipse rally in hopes of being a “calming presence” for her father.
This is the second time Ivanka has been suspected of having committed perjury during the January 6th hearings.

During the very first exhibition, Ivanka said that “I respect Attorney General Barr so I accepted what he said,” referring to Barr’s statements that he had told Trump there was no election fraud and that he was wasting his time with “bulltsh*t” claims of fraud.
But behind the scenes, Ivanka had told documentary filmmaker Alex Holder that Donald Trump “had to take on this fight” and “continue to fight until every legal remedy is exhausted,” because people were questioning “the sanctity of our elections.”
Enough is enough. We need to start showing Trumpworld that we will not tolerate this kind of flouting of the law and the sanctity of the oath.

- Stitt oversaw the largest abuse of taxpayer funds in Oklahoma’s history and failed to hold Epic Schools accountable for wasting millions.
- Stitt’s 2022 fiscal budget for the state proposed nearly $700 million in incentives and breaks for corporations, with only one half a percent hike in funding for schools. Meanwhile, Oklahoma public schools are currently ranked 49th in the nation.
- Stitt did nothing while the state approved utility rate increases for his donors, increasing utility prices for Oklahomans for 28 years.
- Swadley’s Bar BBQ colluded with Stitt’s administration to ensure they would receive a contract to operate restaurants within state parks, and then hiked up prices–leaving taxpayers holding a bill for nearly $17 million in costs on services and supplies while they walked away with a 300% profit.

Demand Manchin and Sinema vote to carve out a filibuster exception and protect abortion rights!

On June 30th, President Biden called for the Senate to make an exception for the filibuster to codify Roe v Wade into law and protect our rights to privacy, including the right for same-sex marriage and to use contraception.
The carve-out has been used over a hundred times in the past, which should be a sharp reminder to everyone that the rules are made up, don’t matter, and are amended whenever the party in power feels like it. But that doesn’t seem to matter to “Democrats” Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema, who are steadfastly refusing to even consider doing anything that might actually help their party and the American people.

The overturning of Roe v. Wade by Trump’s radical Supreme Court is going to upend the lives of millions of people around the country, falling the hardest on the poorest and people of color. Women with nonviable fetuses are going to die if they don’t get the abortion care they need. Lives are at risk.

Impeach Clarence Thomas before he executes a judicial coup!

On June 30th, Clarence Thomas and his cronies announced that they would hear the case of Moore v Harper, in which the plaintiffs seek to reinstate racially gerrymandered voter maps in North Carolina. Their arguments rest on the “independent state legislature doctrine,” which has been rejected time and time again by the Supreme Court.
But given the Court’s extremism, it’s likely they will rule in favor of the plaintiffs and hand state legislatures the power to set election rules — allowing Trump-supporting officials to interfere in federal elections and overturn the democratic will of the people.
Call on Congress to stop Trump’s SCOTUS Justices before it’s too late!
It’s the basis for the arguments laid out by Trump’s election steal lawyers for a reason — and since Thomas’ wife Ginni was intimately involved in the first conspiracy to install Trump in the White House, he cannot be trusted to make a ruling on a case of this magnitude.
“We are witnessing a judicial coup in process. If the President and Congress do not restrain the Court now, the Court is signaling they will come for the Presidential election next,” warns Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.
