The minimum wage has not been raised since 2010, and it has lost 17% of its buying power since then. And it is worth less than 70% of the 1968 minimum wage when adjusted for inflation. 

That means millions of Americans are working full-time and often two jobs and living in poverty 

This is unacceptable.

The vast majority of Americans support the $15/hour minimum wage...and that was before the pandemic made rich people richer and poor people poorer. Allowing corporations to pay poverty wages means the government must supplement salaries with food stamps, Medicaid, and more. That means our tax dollars are being used to subsidize billion dollar, often multinational, corporations paying poverty wages.

Most of our elected leaders are among the wealthiest people in the country. We can’t let a handful of millionaires hold back a life-changing policy for millions of America’s hardest workers.
