Nine in 10 Americans think people should have the right to contraception. When something is that popular, it’s natural to take it for granted. But far-right politicians in statehouses and Congress are capitalizing on that complacency: They’re working on bills right now to take away basic contraception like IUDs.

If we don’t fight back now, the far right will keep taking away our freedoms until we have none left. So many of us didn't believe extremists would take away our right to an abortion. We can’t afford to let the same thing happen to contraception.

In 2022, 90% of House Republicans voted against a bill that would codify the right to basic contraception like IUDs, the pill, the ring, the patch, and condoms.

Contraception allows us to decide when or whether we have kids. It enables us to pursue education and careers. It reduces gender-based violence. And helps treat pain from migraines, endometriosis, and other serious conditions. Attacks on contraception are attacks on our freedoms. We can’t stay silent while right-wing extremists work to take it all away.
