Pass the Honest Ads Act and DISCLOSE Act Now!

Political advertising lacks transparency. Untracked and underreported election spending undermines our democracy as wealthy individuals, corporations, and foreign entities wield outsized influence and sow disinformation. We cannot let these anonymous spending sprees undermine fairness in our elections. 

Congress must step up. The Honest Ads Act and the DISCLOSE Act are two bills that would increase transparency in political campaign funding and promote equity in our elections. These bills would improve disclosure rules and ensure voters receive information about the identity of donors who spend money on campaign ads – every voter deserves to know who is trying to influence their vote. 

By passing the bipartisan Honest Ads Act and the DISCLOSE Act, Congress can reduce the dark money and megadonor influence wrought by the disastrous Citizens United ruling and help create a democracy that works for all.
