The news is out! President Biden has nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the Supreme Court seat vacated by the retiring Justice Stephen Breyer. A supremely qualified candidate, Brown made history as the first Black woman nominated to a court that once declared her race unworthy of citizenship and endorsed segregation.

Unfortunately, she will be facing staunch opposition from the Republican Party, who successfully stole a Supreme Court seat from President Obama with their relentless obstructionism and will doubtlessly attempt to do so again.

The baseless and hysterical attacks on Judge Jackson have already begun. Minutes after the news broke, Sen. Lindsey Graham — who voted to confirm Jackson to her current district court seat — declared that it meant "the radical Left has won President Biden over yet again."

Biden chose Jackson because she is a staunch defender of democracy and human rights. A former public defender, she was instrumental in blocking the Trump administration's efforts to fast-track deportations and trying to keep his White House counsel from testifying before Congress about obstructing the Mueller investigation. America needs her on the Supreme Court!
