Since Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing just over one month ago, the Republican Senate has been trying to push through the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, an extremist ring-wing judge, to the U.S. Supreme Court.
With Barrett on the Supreme Court, issues around healthcare access, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ rights are at risk — and will be for decades in what will be an ultra-conservative majority.
But there’s a possible solution: expanding the court by increasing the number of Supreme County justices. There’s nothing in the Constitution that dictates the size of the Supreme Court, and it has fluctuated in size from as few as five to as many as ten before settling at the current number of nine justices.
Should the Senate confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, we need to be ready. Join us as we call on Congress to expand the court by increasing the number of Supreme Court justices.
