A new investigation by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse and the Senate Judiciary Committee has confirmed our suspicions that the Trump administration actively worked to squash the investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh before he was ultimately seated for a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court.
They found that both the Trump White House and the FBI "misled the public and the Senate" about the scope of the investigation it conducted into the sexual assault allegations by falsely claiming that the bureau managed its investigation thoroughly and "by the book."
Hold Brett Kavanaugh accountable for sexually assaulting Christine Blasey Ford!
The FBI’s limited supplemental background investigation involved only a "handful" of relevant witness interviews and ignored other potential sources, including Kavanaugh himself, his accuser Christine Blasey Ford, or others who had offered to give the FBI corroborating or otherwise relevant information.
That's right — they didn't even bother to interview Ford herself. This paved the way for at least 8 GOP senators to point to the "lack of corroborating evidence" as justification for Kavanaugh's unconscionable confirmation. He has no business sitting on that court and issuing rulings that strip key freedoms away from millions of Americans.
Reopen the investigation into Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual assaults!
