Donald Trump has made the shocking decision to appoint former WWE CEO Linda McMahon as the Secretary of Education, putting her in charge of our nation’s schools and educational policy.

McMahon has no credentials beyond having attended school herself; in fact, she was discovered to have lied about having a degree in education after being nominated to the Connecticut State Board of Education in 2009. She’s on the America First Policy Institute, a Trumper think tank that advocates for, among other things, privatizing public schools and making the failed voucher programs currently destroying Arizona’s state budget a national disaster. She must not be confirmed!

As if this wasn’t bad enough, McMahon is currently subject to a lawsuit in which she and her husband are accused of knowing that the WWE’s young “ring boys” were being sexually abused by ringside announcer Melvin Phillips for years and did nothing about it. Anyone who enabled child sexual abuse has absolutely no business being involved in setting policy for our nation’s schoolkids.

“Like Betsy DeVos, McMahon has no background in public schools nor any understanding of what it takes to help every student thrive,” said the National Education Association.“Now, he and Linda McMahon are back at it with their extreme Project 2025 proposal to eliminate the Department of Education, steal resources for our most vulnerable students, increase class sizes, cut job training programs, make higher education more expensive and out of reach for middle class families, take away special education services for disabled students, and put student civil rights protections at risk.”

We must not allow this woman to turn the Education Department into ground zero for Project 2025.
